Light a Candle
Katrina Sevich passed on February 12th, 2016. She was 25. She is survived by her parents, brother and sister.
Born July 10th, 1990 at Shady Grove Hospital, she grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland attending Thurgood Marshall Elementary and then Ridgeview Middle School. For high school, she went to Quince Orchard and Jefferson High Schools, graduating from the latter in Jefferson, Maryland on June 19th, 2009.
In college, Katrina was studying website design and development at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland.
As a child she played piano, swam swim team and was a decorated girl scout. As an adult she showed skills in arts and crafts, excelling at ceramics in high school and later on selling her handmade jewelry and accessories through her online business. Her artistic eye translated to graphic design, where she created logos for clients and designed websites that won her awards in college. Aside from art, she had a lifelong love for animals, adopting a pair of Sugar Gliders, intelligent creatures requiring big responsibility, which Katrina devotedly cared for. Her compassion for the vulnerable was evident in her support for womens' and children's rights, LGBT equality and animal welfare.
